Our mission is to produce exciting, professional-caliber theatrical experiences that ENRICH via a diverse selection of artistic works that challenge as well as entertain, EDUCATE through acting and technical training/apprenticeship opportunities, and EMPOWER through progressive inclusion of all people, worldwide

PURPOSE

​The purpose of Axiom Repertory Theatre is to create a nationally recognized, professionally oriented regional repertory theatrical enterprise based in Redding, CA. We believe that doing so will:

  • Serve people and industry throughout the world

  • Create exciting employment and advancement opportunities

  • Offer the best in art, education, technology, entertainment and commerce

  • Create a significant positive financial impact for Redding and Shasta County in general, as well as other ancillary businesses along the I-5 corridor between San Francisco, CA, and Ashland, OR, that cater to and service the thousands of annual travelers seeking the finest in live theatrical entertainment.

EXECUTIVE BOARD AND STAFF

  • KEN HILL

    FOUNDER/CEO/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

    Ken is a 50 year veteran of the theatre and brings a vast degree of professional and educational experience to the stage. He holds a Master of Arts in Theatre/Directing from San Francisco State University and has taught and directed all ages and levels of theater. He strongly believes in the process and method of learning all aspects of the art form and is known as "an actor's director." Ken delights in and succeeds in helping others find their own art, artistry and expression, "on the boards."

  • TIM NASCIMENTO (HE/HIM)

    VICE PRESIDENT/CFO

    As the manager of a local US Bank, Tim leverages his financial expertise to serve as Axiom's CFO. Within Axiom, he plays an integral role as a soundboard operator and possesses valuable skills in set construction and directing. Tim's unique combination of a passion for both numbers and theater brings a harmonious balance to the group. Additionally, he volunteers in the theatre department of a local high school, offering his time and expertise to support the students' theatrical endeavors.

  • CASSIE MCEACHEN (SHE/HER)

    BOARD SECRETARY/DIRECTOR/STAGE MANAGER

    Cassie, a dedicated member of Axiom for several years, actively contributes to the company. Holding degrees in English and Theater from CSU Chico, she imparts her knowledge as a teacher in a local charter school. Within Axiom, Cassie's involvement spans both onstage and offstage roles, where she excels as a director, stage manager, and actor. Her multifaceted talents have found expression within Axiom Children's Theatre as well, which she has been part of since its inception.

  • BRANDON NASCIMENTO (SHE/HER)

    HOUSE MANAGER

    Brandon has been a valued member of Axiom for 6 years, actively engaging in various roles such as Head of House, stage manager, assistant director, and actor. With her unwavering dedication, Brandon embodies the heart and soul of Axiom. She collaborates closely with volunteers, ensuring the fulfillment of the company's requirements. Presently, Brandon serves as a social worker case manager for the local special needs organization, effectively liaising with county agencies on behalf of the company.

  • NANCY HILL (SHE/HER)

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/ARTS COUNCIL LIASON

    Nancy, a retired arts educator with over 35 years of experience, has passionately taught music, dance, and drama across all age groups. She possesses a Music Education degree from CSU Chico. Currently, Nancy holds the position of Executive Director at the Shasta County Arts Council. In addition, she boasts extensive expertise in technical theatre, specializing in costume design, makeup design, and properties design and execution.

  • LIZZIE STOXEN (SHE/HER)

    AXIOM CHILDREN’S THEATRE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

    Lizzie brings a wealth of experience and talent to the position of ACT Artistic Director. Lizzie has successfully established and nurtured this thriving summer theatre camp, consistently attracting over 70 children from grades 3 to 8 to actively participate in the program. Furthermore, she involves high school students as assistants and interns, training them in technical theater skills. Lizzie also teaches the arts in local schools and operates a highly successful private studio. Additionally, she actively serves as the music minister at a local church.

  • SAMANTHA BAUTISTA (SHE/HER)

    DIRECTOR/COSTUME COORDINATOR

    Having been a part of Axiom for 5 years, Sam has consistently engaged as both an actor and director in several shows. Outside of her volunteer work wiht Axiom, Sam is a middle school teacher specializing in liberal arts and theater and actively participates in multiple theater companies within the community.

  • BOBBY MILHOUSE (HE/HIM)

    RESIDENT CHOREOGRAPHER

    Bobby, a professional dancer and choreographer, has recently joined the Axiom staff as the resident choreographer. Hailing from Florida and having danced across various locations such as the south, New York, Los Angeles, and now Redding, Bobby brings a wealth of experience. He firmly believes that dance is accessible to everyone, from seasoned performers seeking to refine their technique to novices simply looking to have a great time. Bobby's passion lies in cultivating a relaxed, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for all dancers.

  • PETE BILTON (HE/HIM)

    LIGHTING/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

    With a rich history spanning 20 years, Pete Bilton is an esteemed member of the local theater community. Peter worked as an engineer and rigger for Morpheus Lights, accompanying renowned rock bands on national tours. Subsequently, he ventured into establishing his own lighting company, providing lighting services in the northern California region. Pete has collaborated with esteemed establishments such as the Cascade Theatre, Shasta College, The State Theatre, and SSCYA. Now, Pete brings his extensive lighting and theater expertise as Axiom's resident lighting designer, lending his artistic vision to enhance the productions.

  • DANIEL HILL (HE/HIM)

    LIGHTING DESIGNER/CUSTOMER SUPPORT/ACTOR

    For the past 4 years, Daniel has played a vital role in Axiom's journey, contributing to the development of the website and crafting impressive lighting designs for the company. Audiences have had the pleasure of witnessing Daniel's talent firsthand in numerous productions. In addition to his work at Axiom, Daniel remains dedicated to enhancing the technical capabilities and on-stage performances of the company. Simultaneously, he holds the position of a content and media specialist at the Shasta County Arts Council, further amplifying his impact in the arts community.

  • DEBBIE BROWN-BURKETT (SHE/HER)

    VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

    Debbie embarked on her Axiom journey during Season 5, stepping into the spotlight as a first-time actor. With Season 6 came a new responsibility as the volunteer coordinator, and Debbie's dedication has led to the creation of a remarkable volunteer experience within our company. In 2022, she introduced appreciation celebrations that quickly became a cherished highlight of the season. Beyond Axiom, Debbie actively engages with the community, forging meaningful connections and fostering a wonderful bond between the community and our organization.

  • RACHEAL NEWMAN (SHE/HER)

    LOUNGE DIRECTOR

    Having volunteered with Axiom for 4 years, Racheal assumed the role of lounge director in April 2022. Under her leadership, the lounge has experienced remarkable growth and success. Racheal's ability to establish strong connections with volunteers, staff, and patrons has contributed to the welcoming atmosphere. Working closely with other staff members, she collaborates to integrate engaging activities that align with upcoming events. This includes coordinating signature drinks and merchandise that complement the themes of productions or events. Racheal's invaluable contributions have solidified her status as a cherished member of the company.

  • SUSAN WHITE (SHE/HER)

    ACCOUNTANT

    Susan joined Axiom at the beginning of Season 5, coinciding with the reopening of the company after the COVID hiatus. Initially, she took charge of volunteer organization and diligently worked in the box office, handling ticket sales. Recognizing her expertise as a retired accountant, Susan subsequently turned her attention to Axiom's financial matters, utilizing her skills to organize and streamline the accounting process. She has been instrumental in facilitating grant writing and overseeing all financial aspects within the company. Susan's invaluable contributions have ensured the smooth operation of Axiom's finances.

  • LISA COLLINS (SHE/HER)

    ACTOR/DIRECTOR/PLAYBILL COORDINATOR

    Lisa, one of the founding members of Axiom Repertory Theatre, joined the company after transitioning from the Bay Area as a professional actor. Within Axiom, Lisa has made substantial contributions as both an actor and director, crafting memorable roles and shows that have become iconic within the company. Additionally, Lisa takes on the responsibility of designing Axiom's playbills and collaborates on various projects with both Axiom and other community theater companies. Her multifaceted involvement showcases her dedication to the arts and her invaluable contributions to the theatrical community.
